it has been an extremely long time since I’ve posted here, and there’s been a lot of water run under the bridge. I have been spending so much time working on projects in Africa and I haven’t had any time to spend on this web page…I guess since the last time I posted I have been to the Republic of Guinea, \u00a0Nigeria, and \u00a0Ghana about 6 times, working on various projects to develop the beekeeping industry in those countries. we have started an organization within the Northeast Oklahoma Beekeepers Association called International Outreach which has raised thousands of dollars for helping to start businesses over there. So overall it’s been pretty busy, but this webpage has really suffered! I’m going to go through the various Pages at this time and try to update stuff. I can stay right here that we had a pretty good harvest, about 1,500 pounds of excellent honey in September, and I’ve sold about two-thirds of it but we still have about 30 cases of 24 ounce jars left and those are selling for $12. I also made up some more propolis extract \u00a0and it is particularly strong!<\/p>\n
a lot of people ask me how do you know that the honey that you get is truly local? the answer is pretty simple, look at the person you are buying the bee products from and see how many active bee hives they have. You can figure you are going to make about 30 pounds of honey per Hive in this area…..if somebody is selling loads and loads of honey they better have loads and loads of bee hives! I have about 60 hives, and usually sell out by Christmas….and I am kind of a lousy salesman! So that’s how you can tell. As for me, I sell most of my honey in stores wholesale but everybody is welcome to come down my driveway and buy a jar anytime.
